I was pretty much just thrown in there and had to learn as I go. Obviously watching safety videos isn't job training

The training provided at this company is exceptional. They're goal is for you to succeed. That's how they succeed

they expected you to have experience from other retail. Dillard's doesn't have well-constructed training.

What training? I spent about 3 hours learning the systems, and about 2 weeks "helping out" around the store during my "training" period. By helping out I mean stocking in departments I would never work in, helping with floor moves again in different dpts, and stand on the sales floor of various debts alone with nothing to do. They don't clearly go over all rules, and will not give you a copy of the full handbook unless you consistently ask. That single piece of paper is not the full handbook.

They don't train you at all. They have you watch some videos on your first day then toss you out on the job floor.
