401K Plan

They will not help you through the process.

I was told about the retirement plan, but there is a 3 month prohibition period where it kicks in after the 3 months.

They do not match contributions and the vestment rules making it possible to close an account is ridiculous. It needs to be reevaluated.

They match up to a certain percentage, not sure how high at the moment!

It is an easy plan. Only 5% comes out of the pay check.

Harris teeters matching is great overall in the 401k plan. It'd be nice if it wasn't a "vested" plan. They roll through employees like there's no tomorrow so it looks good upfront but they seem to make out by chopping heads before they can benefit from the matching.

I had never had a 401k before working at Harris Teeter. It is nice they offer it even for part time cashiers!

I know they have a 401 K plan but I was not sure on the details.

While I contributed to the plan, I knew very little about it despite asking for information multiple times. This may have been an issue restricted to the area store I worked at, I never took the time to ask other locations as I knew I would be finding another job around the time I started contributing.
