Vacation was 1-2 weeks/year, however, management would not allow coverage, so when you returned you were very behind. Many tasks were time sensitive, so this affected annual review.

Not easy to find a good time to take vacation but time has to be used none can be sold back to to company, however, you can give time to a coworker if there is a qualifying reason (such as sickness they are dealing with).

Vacation time is low compare to other companies. But the flexibility of telecommuting makes up for the low vacation. Gives two weeks off during Christmas depending on your boss

Paltry benefit and no flexibility for experienced processionals leaving a competitor to strengthen the Health Net team. Say they want to hire someone from Blue Shield with 24 days PTO and Health Net offers a standard 12 day for every new hire. The new hire has to accrue time off in 4-5 hour increments every pay period. Makes for poor work life balance and inhibits hiring of experienced staff when high attrition levels necessitate hiring those that can hit the ground running. Very short sighted investment strategy in terms of investing in the work force.
