Work From Home

This is no different. Usually you better of at workplace than work from home as culture there is to work closely with each other and visibility is part of it. So people working remotely will have challenge growing in their career. But flexible working hours and sometime work from home helps to attend person stuff.

you can work from home half of the week. Noone cares so long as work gets done.

They had a very flexible schedule. I was able to work from home and attend personal commitments when needed as long as I compensated the time and completed the work on time.

VPN like most companies. It has issues every now and then and requires an hour long phone call to IT in India.

Support for WFH depends on the group you are in and on how the manager feels about it. It's harder than you think it would be to get a regular schedule for telecommuting, but very easy to take a single day as work from home.

Some managers allow working from home, others do not. It is a crap shoot.
