Generous as compared to competitors. 100% vesting in employer contribution after a period of time. Great matching percentages and investment options through Vanguard,

Terrible benefits. They don't tell you with an HSA that you do not get all of the money up front like you do with an FSA. You get a certain amount each month. The only benefit of an HSA for National Grid is that it saves you tax dollars because it comes out pre-taxed (which is also a minuscule amount) Also as a management employee you get paid once a month on the 21st. Your benefits do not start until January 21st and you have to pay your doctor out of pocket and then get reimbursed! They claim a "well woman" visit is free once a year... what they don't tell you is it only covers the office charge. Any routine testing or urine cultures are not covered. I went in thinking it was going to be free and left with a $200 bill. It's understandable that not all companies can afford great health insurance, but you need to communicate with your employees.
