non-exempt employees earn vacation hours every pay period depending on length of employment and are encouraged to take it, but can rollover up to 184 hrs into the next year; exempt employees have new policy of unlimited vacation (con to this is that should you leave company, there is no vacation pay out). One con to the vacation accrual/rollover is that if you have max'd out, they do not notify you. So potentially you could have stopped accruing for some time and not realized it (happened to me). Important to self-monitor the vacation balance to keep track. Amount of paid time-off is appx 5 days/year, but often your manager is likely to approve if needing more depending on your circumstances.
