Vacation & Paid Time Off

They offer a wide range of paid holidays and are really good about making sure you are given your vacation time. They do however force you to use a week around Christmas and New Years if you are not assigned to a site. You must take off that time and use your vacation even if you don't want to.

2 weeks for under 3 years. 3 weeks once you hit the 3 year mark. All standard holidays and just included Veterans Day and Presidents Day.

after 10 years, only 18 days of vacation is the max. Was 8 days of holidays, now increased to 10 days.

New employees only get 2 weeks of vacation. After 3 years (I believe), your vacation goes up to 3 weeks. Oracle maxes out vacation at a little over 4 weeks.

Oracle is far behind the times with their PTO policy - 13 days to start, interrupted by a forced holiday shutdown leaving new employees with 9 days to use at their discretion. Two additional holidays have been thrown onto the calendar, but it doesn't help much when trying to plan the time off yourself.

Plenty of PTO, unlimited sick time. Mandatory holiday break for most employees which uses your PTO; can be good or bad depending on the person.

Vacation is skimpy and doesn't go as high after years of employment. No additional flex holidays, 8 paid holidays (10 next year), and a mandatory shutdown between Christmas to New Years, taking a few more days from your meager vacation allottment.

13 days vacation per year and 8 paid holidays to start. The problem is that they now have a "winter break" which requires employees to use 4 days of their annual vacation time. If you are out of vacation time then they don't pay you for those days during winter break. Also, good luck ever using more than 5 vacation days at a time, it's simply not possible if you want to be employed when you return.

I literally had 13 days of PTO and that was it. No Federal Holidays, No Christmas, No Thanksgiving, No New Years. It was 365 - 13. It is the worst work life balance I have ever seen. If you value your sanity and free time, Oracle is not for you. Other departments would receive more days off, but not ours (Oracle-Micros Hospitality).
