Vacation & Paid Time Off

Oracle's vacation policy is competitive, though not as good as some companies in Silicon Valley. They offer 18 days of vacation after you reach five years. There are no floating holidays. There are 8 fixed holidays---New Year's, MLK, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, the day after Thanksgiving, and Christmas.

Really short vacation days, I think it was like 12 or 13 days.

Forced vacation between Christmas and New Years means only 9 discretionary days off per year - and meager holidays - until year 4.

The worst thing is that they force us to use them between Christmas and New Years, which is a recent change. There are a considerable number of days off, but using almost half of them for a period in time which you may not take off normally is irritating.

Oracle only gives 13 days of vacation. They just recently announced that 5 of those days are required to be taken over Christmas break. So, that really only leave 8 days of vacation.

More than three weeks every year.

I get 21 days off.
