You were expected to know things within a week or two and the training process was very informal

The company has a great training program. However your development will depend on your direct leader.

The job training went very smoothly. You have such a supportive team and there are people who work there for years so they know what they are talking about. The team was really good at giving you all the information you needed to succeed and was always there when you ran into any problems. The hardest part of training is getting down the rack plan that the shoes are in, but by the first month you will be so used to it.

This was probably the biggest thing I noticed that was missing from the job. Managers for the most part acted as if they couldn't be bothered with questions or concerns that related to proper procedure. You would simply be hit with a comment like you should know this or it's not that hard to comprehend. New hires would come in they would literally be show the register and whoever the other person in the shift was suppose to just look over their shoulder and make sure they didn't mess up. When it came to floor tasks they were shown once and expected to be experts at it in just a few days time. Very discouraging I had many associated that would come to me as a key holder and ask what they were doing wrong. I was honest as possibly with out jeopardizing myself but simply told them it's not you it's a continuous cycle of point and blamr. It almost seemed to be this way by design so managers had someone to take the fall when a group leader or district leader questioned things not operating up to speed.
