It was very good insurance for my special needs child

Health insurance is fantastic. However, the reason for not giving 5 stars is that I personally experienced a situation where coverage was denied as the insurance doctor disagreed that the health service was needed.

deductible is much higher than when i started

Only high deductible plans are available. No HMO or low deductible plan.

was not instructed on how to access the health insurance benefits, nor the vision benefits

it is not clear what you will be paying for services and they oftentimes deny initially, as if that is part of their process.

The deductible is higher than what I will actually spend annually unless I have a catastrophic problem requiring health care.

Benefits use to be really awesome, but have steadily declined over 10+ years. However, they still are pretty good compared to other organizations. The mission is a great mission and is easily seen in most of the departments within the organization. PTO accrual is also a great benefit. The down side is that it takes 5 years to get vested in your retirement programs.
