Insurance benefits were offered but were not so competitive, hence opted out of it, and purchased outside from other private providers.

Poor offerings at a very high cost to the employee.

It is insanely high priced. Well out of the range for any normal person. For contractors, TEKSystems covers none of the cost.

Poor health insurance coverage (I hit the coverage maximum on best health insurance plan).

Best thing: Recent renegotiations with new insurance partners yield competitive health insurance. TEKsystems' health insurance used to be so bad that the HR rep would apologize when giving you the form. Now the premiums are affordable and the providers are top notch: Delta Dental + multiple choice medical insurance providers.

very expensive for the assistance offered. as a contract employee, no guarantee that i wouldn't owe money to the company to pay for insurance.

Out of pocket jumped almost 2/3 more around 2014. Seems to be a problem everywhere - but definitely was a hit for many.

The quality of the insurance depends on the level of coverage you select. You can negotiate the contribution the company makes toward your benefits, which is balanced against your pay level.
