Uses the thrift savings plan.

There is a pension plan which is rare these days (1% x the number of years worked for the federal government x the average of your top 3 years salary) plus a matching system for your equivalent to a 401k.....a Roth option too, definitely nothing to complain about.

Cannot say there is anything bad about retirement.

its good as long as your contributing to it. and you plan on retiring at the age of 65 -72years old.
