Some of the people are very smart so you feel incompetent sometimes. You are an undergrad helping a PhD candidate so there are many things that are too difficult to do on your own.

The job training is adequate. It covered all the details. You will have a meeting every week. Safety is always stressed, which I think is the best.

I would honestly say that there is not anything specifically bad but new management is making many changes to the role and it is in my humble opinion not needed and not helpful.

There are resources available for learning through the online Learning Center, as well as online outside sources such as Lynda.com. Most of these are no cost to the employee.

They only have an orientation to attend but no actual training

The training was very fun and helps broadening one's horizons. It was like a summer camp. It depends on the department too. Their orientation leader training is fun where some departments training may be dull they are just doing it because they have to, and they expect you to pick things up while on the job. You are getting paid during training so its all good.

The best thing about the training is that it is quite thorough. Even though it is extensive, it only describes situations and the best course of action, but in this department, no incident is ever the same so the training only prepares you slightly. The training is conducted for this position over a span of 5 weeks during the summer before your position technically starts.
