50% of your pay after 20 years active duty. This is subject to change with legislation, however.

You must do 20 years or get medical retired. But the is alot of red tape with that too. Retirement is good once you get it.

The Retirement Plan is second to none! After 20 years of Active Duty service, and enlisted person can get 50% of their base pay for the rest of their life and it starts immediately! You do not have to wait until you are much older to start collecting!

Probably the best retirement plan available, but you have to stick around for 20 years.

After the completion of 20 years active federal credited service, a service member can request retirement and receive 50% of their base pay minus taxes for the remainder of their lives. In addition, for every year served after 20, a service member can earn an additional 2.5% of their base pay per credited year up to (I believe) 75% of their base pay at 30 years.

The potential for up to 100% of your last pay scale

After 20 years in the army you will receive 50% of your base pay as a pension for the rest of your life. Retiree healthcare cost is much lower then civilian healthcare insurance.

They are working hard to keep it competitive with the civilian market and current options and rates outside the military. Recently added the ROTH TSP option as an alternative to ROTH IRA
