50% base pay at 20 years service and rises 2.5% every year after. Option to provide portion of retirement pay to surviving spouse should service member pass away. Pending plan for a transferable 401k that could be utilized for those not wanting to serve 20.

20 years of service qualifies you for retirement pay starting as soon as you leave the service. It is usually about 1/2 of your base pay, depending on actual length of service.
