The "academy" they send you to is a joke. You learn absolutely nothing that is useful when you get out on the job. On the job training: well, you'll get that if you are really lucky. Most don't, they just throw you to the wolves.

It's pretty extensive. Originally tell you it is 2-3 days of training and ended up about 2 weeks. First session of training gives you a overview of employment at USPS and a shadow day at the post office. Then comes vehicle training and class room training.

mostly manuals, and people reading from manuals. the training could really use an upgrade. something more interactive to keep the staff engaged, and involved.
