Employees become eligible for the 401k plan at 60 days of employment. There is no company match until after the first year and every available option has hefty fees. Personally I would have more money set aside after taxes had I opted out of the plan and simply placed it into my savings account at .25% APY.

This plan has also changed over the years, it now only offers a very small percentage that the company matches, and that only happens if you contribute over a minimum amount.

Using their 401k plan, you can choose to be aggressive or conservative with your options and even use your 401 contribution towards walgreens stock.
