Walgreens offers a wide variety of benefits to eligible team members designed to support your physical, financial, and emotional well-being while helping you balance work and life. In addition to company-paid life insurance and voluntary life & personal accident insurance, the benefits below are available to our team members.
I really love that I get 15% off most anything in the store and 20-25% their brand products, although i do get paid time off I only get about 1/3 of an hour per pay check (bi-monthly) and i work 8 hours, 5 days a week so it would take a while to get a day, much less a full week vacation in paid time off.

Very good pay. Many choices for health care benefits. Can choose a platinum, gold, silver or bronze plan depending on your family's needs. Very good ancillary benefits such as 401, PTO, etc.

PTO and sick days have all been rolled into one pool; 401k match is not a good as previous years (it's now dollar for dollar on first 4% of salary you contribute and a variable discretionary match after that); health insurance isn't very affordable but that seems to be the case at most employers, vision and dental were affordable, though. Employee discount can help a considerable amount if you compare prices to other stores first and combine with sales and coupons (15% off all merchandise excluding alcohol, tobacco, dairy, gift cards, etc., 25% off all walgreens/owned brands, which includes studio 35, delish, nice, pet shoppe, living solutions, and more)

The company match $1 for $1 up to 4% is a great benefit. Also, being able to choose the level of health plan that suits your situation allows you to control health care expenses.

401k is great. Walgreens does a great match. Insurance is not good. There are several options but they're all expensive.

In 2014, Walgreens overhauled their dated time off policy and transitioned to a PTO based model. This conversion was refreshing and needed as it offered a more competitive benefits package to WAG employees in the field and at Corporate. New hires in the field are now eligible for paid time off beginning after 6 months of service and can accrue up to 2 weeks annually during their first 2 years. After 2 years of service, the PTO benefit improves to 3 weeks annually. Corporate employees, however, are eligible for paid time off after 90 days of service and are eligible to accrue up to 4 weeks annually during their first 2 years of service. After 5 years, that benefit improves to 5 weeks.

Walgreens offers a tons of benefits for all full-time employees. However, the quality and extent of the benefits has dropped in recent years and the company is really cheaping out. Medical insurance is more costly, employee discounts through other companies are lower, and the Profit Sharing plan has a lower match rate now for starters.

Lots of choices, reasonable cost. No cons. Maternity leave could be a lot better, though if they allowed use of sick time.
