Anyone worked for Insight? How do you like it?
I feel like the tech industry has completely warped my perception of money. I find myself getting jealous of people making $250k on Reddit, while completely forgetting that my current salary puts me in the top percentage of earners in my own zip code. My non-tech friends are struggling with groceries, and here I am complaining that my RSU refresher wasn't high enough this quarter. How do you ground yourself?
How do you handle ghosting in job interviews? There is a company that took 3-4 weeks to complete mid level software developer interviews.I gave final interview last week and haven’t heard anything even after a follow up.Is it normal to get ghosted even after coming this long and investing your energy in the process ? I mean, I am fine if they say no or reject me but just don’t take too long that I start losing interest in the role.Has anyone experienced situations like this before? What did u do
Are we just going to be living in a perpetual state of fearing layoffs? Within the last year it seems like there are rumors on a monthly basis about my company planning layoffs and I've heard similar things from others in tech. I know the job market normally ebbs and flows but it feels with the advent of AI this is just forever going to be our lives now. What to do? 😭
I’m currently surviving day 45 of a 60-day PIP, and the psychological warfare of this process is worse than the actual threat of being fired. I’ve hit every single arbitrary metric they set for me so far, but my manager still treats me like a stranger and documents every casual Slack message I send. It’s completely obvious that the plan isn't meant to rehabilitate me, it’s just a legal shield for HR to clear the desk. If you actually managed to beat a PIP, did you stay at the company or just use the time to find a clean exit?
Morning! I have found myself in a situation where micromanagement of my role is becoming very stressful. What are your tips for managing up in this scenario? I'm unsure how to frame this feedback.
Avoid it like the plague. Big downturns and large RIFs occur roughly every 2 years. Poor raises, poor starting pay.
