      Front Desk Agent/Night Auditor Interview

      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at 1 Hotels (San Francisco, CA) in Apr 2022

      Interview

I applied for a front desk position in April 2022 on Indeed with four years of experience at the time being and one of the front office manager contacted me for a phone interview. The first time she forgot we even had a scheduled interview and I had to email her before I got a call back 30 mins from the actual time and we spent less than 10 minutes on the phone. Never heard back from her since. Fast forward now July 2024, I applied for a job at the same property but this time I have six years of experience and this is only a part time job for two days a week as a relief night auditor. I received an email from an HR recruiter saying that she scheduled a phone interview for me with the same manager from two years ago and this time she forgot again, and I had to email them before I got a call back 30 mins later once again. Which is incredibly unprofessional that they don’t have any sort of time management skills. This time we spent 5 minutes on the phone, and she asked why I left my last job. I told her it was because I was promised a promotion, but that was given to someone else. She confirms that it’s a part time position and if I was hired, in order for me to transition into a full time front desk position, it would require 6 months of employment because this is their corporate policy, rather than internally promoting someone with seniority. ( IDK if that makes sense, I have to work for 6 months as a part time night auditor, before I can transition to a full time front desk agent ) rather than internally based on seniority they would straight up hire another front desk agent and I would have to wait 6 months which is unheard of. Once again never heard from her since. Another whole month goes by and it’s August now, I applied for the same front desk position from 2022 for the 3rd time now and this time it was automatically denied within two days. These hiring managers now a days only hire those that they feel like they can be friends with, qualifications or not. That would explain the other reviews, and why the position has been vacated many times.
