      Knowledge Manager Interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at ADP (Phoenix, AZ) in Mar 2022

      Interview

ADP appears to be incredibly disorganized internally. I had a recruiter reach out to me via LinkedIn, who did an initial interview. He told me initially this was a hybrid working position, which I declined saying I wanted remote only. He then immediately changed positions to say full time remote was possible. He then indicated that the pay range was $120-130k. The interview process is incredibly long, an initial 45-60min interview with a team member, a follow up 30-45min with the hiring manager, and beyond that there is a panel interview and a final with the hiring manager's supervisor. This is hours of unpaid time you are giving them. During my first interview, the team member I spoke to was very friendly, but was not necessarily prepared for such a lengthy interview. There were several repeated questions. During my second interview, it appears the initial recruiter who contacted me had either left the company or was dismissed. I had no POC, and nearly missed the interview because their webex link was no longer working. I was able to contact the hiring manager quickly enough, but he noted he had no idea what was happening. After that interview, which I felt went well, a week later a different recruiter from the company reached out. He informed me that the position could not be full time remote and the pay range was only 80-100k, and that the other recruiter had lied to me. That's fair, but annoyingly he took an attitude like I was being unreasonable when it was their employee who told me this info. Why would I think anything different? On the call I even said that it was no problem, and agreed to move forward under those terms. This was the last I heard from ADP, they ghosted me after taking hours of my time. The opportunity sounded very interesting, the people I spoke to on the team were very kind and helpful, but the recruiters made the whole experience pretty poor. It appears the company has a strong back to office policy, which seemed unreasonable considering I was in a different state than a majority of the team I would be working with. Between the chaos, and the ghosting, it left a pretty sour taste in my mouth for ADP. They are attempting to grow their KM team, so keep in mind they don't allow remote work and the pay isn't the most competitive for this space going into the interview. They are very firm on these, so you have to be ok with that moving forward. I'd welcome talking to the recruitment team about my experience, but I suspect I'll never hear from them again unfortunately.
