I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at AMCS Group in Nov 2023
Interview
I recently went through an interview process for the HR & Talent Business Partner role at AMCS and wanted to share my insights for the improvement of future candidate experiences.
The initial stages of the interview process, including conversations with the recruitment lead and the HR team, provided valuable insights into the company culture and role expectations. However, my final interview with the Global Head of People Success and Talent left me with concerns.
The questions raised about my motherhood during the interview felt intrusive and irrelevant to the role and my professional capabilities. These inquiries gave the impression that there might be a lack of understanding or support for working mothers within the company. In today's diverse and inclusive work environments, it is essential to avoid such lines of questioning as they can be perceived as unprofessional and may not align with modern hiring practices.
Moreover, the interaction with the Global Head of People Success and Talent left me with mixed feelings. The conversation felt more like a survey than an organic discussion, and I expected a more in-depth engagement, particularly given the seniority of this person. A warmer and more personable approach could enhance the candidate experience and better showcase the company's culture.
Regarding the decision not to proceed with my application, I respect the outcome but was surprised to hear that compensation played a significant role. This was a topic that had been discussed earlier in the process, and I believed we had reached a mutual understanding.
I requested further clarification and feedback on the decision two months ago, but unfortunately, I have not received any response to date. I understand that the decision-making process can be complex, and providing detailed feedback may take time. However, receiving feedback is crucial for personal and professional growth, especially this being the final interview round.
In conclusion, I hope this feedback is received constructively, with the aim of enhancing future interview processes. I wish AMCS continued success in finding talented and diverse candidates for their team.
