I applied online. The process took 4 months. I interviewed at AOL (Dulles, VA) in Oct 2014
Interview
Had an initial interview with a recruiter from AOL. Then, had 2 informal phone interviews with the hiring manager. Went onsite for an interview where I met with 5 people for about 4-5 hours. Most questions were based on job function. Also, I had a cultural ambassador interview that was very strange. I was told the questions would be about AOL culture, but instead the person basically told me that she didn't think I would "fit in" and didn't really ask any questions. Based on that interview, I really wasn't sure I wanted to work for AOL.
Very unprofessional. I prepared for my interview a long time after an initial phone screen. I sat by the phone waiting for a call from the hiring manager. When no one called, I messaged the recruiting coordinator, and she said the position had been canceled last week. No one bothered to mention it to me. I would have appreciated just a simple email.
