I applied online and was screened on Zoom by AXS talent acquisition. She was professional, personable, and explained the role and hiring process to me with clarity. I was moved on to the next step, which was a Zoom interview with the person who would be my direct supervisor should I get the offer and accept the role. I scheduled that interview nearly a week in advance using the online scheduling tool provided, and it was confirmed by the company representative. The morning of the interview, I received an email asking if my interview could be pushed back by 30 minutes, and I agreed. But that afternoon, just minutes before my interview, I was sent another email saying they needed to push to later in the week or the following week, and asking me to select three more time slots on their scheduling tool. At that point, I declined to go further in the process, because when a company makes it clear that they do not value the time of the people who are interested in working for them, that is a red flag that should not be ignored. Some candidates will do considerable preparation prior to a scheduled interview, some must secure childcare or rearrange their calendars. That's why I believe the information I'm sharing here is important for other jobseekers to have. Respect and consideration should go both ways from the very start of a professional relationship.
