I had a disappointing interview experience with Accion Labs due to a lack of coordination throughout the hiring process.
I was interviewed **twice** for the same Business Analyst opportunity.
During the **first interview**, although the Job Description emphasized **Logistics and Supply Chain**, a significant portion of the discussion focused on the **Payments domain**. This was unexpected and did not align with the role I had prepared for. I also felt that the interview lacked engagement, as there was minimal interaction or discussion beyond asking questions.
I was then scheduled for a **second interview**, which lasted around **40 minutes**. This round was much more relevant to the advertised role, covering topics such as Supply Chain, Business Analysis, Agile methodologies, APIs, SQL, and other responsibilities mentioned in the JD. I answered the questions confidently and felt the discussion went well.
However, when I followed up with HR the next day for an update, I was informed that the client's requirement had changed and they were now looking for a candidate with **8+ years of lead-level experience**.
While I understand that business requirements can evolve, it was disappointing to learn this only after completing two interview rounds. If the hiring criteria had already changed, it would have been more considerate to communicate that before scheduling the interviews. Candidates invest considerable time preparing, attending interviews, and rearranging their schedules.
**Pros:**
* HR communication during scheduling was prompt and professional.
**Cons:**
* Job description and interview questions were not fully aligned.
* Multiple interview rounds despite changing hiring requirements.
* Last-minute change in client expectations resulted in unnecessary time and effort for the candidate.
I hope the interview process becomes more structured in the future, with better alignment between the job description, interview content, and actual hiring requirements. Better communication around changing client expectations would help create a more positive candidate experience.
