I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Adyen (Berlin) in Aug 2022
Interview
Initial interview process was to ask broad questions about your background, inclusive of both career and personal history. Just a tip: if you have any sort of “establishment banking” experience in financial services you can expect your chances of success to be negatively impacted. They care less about your qualifications and more about whether they’d be willing to get a beer with you.
I applied online. I interviewed at Adyen (Singapore)
Interview
Unnecessarily long 5 step interview. HR is absolute trash, worst communication I’ve ever come across. Unclear instructions and missing information. Not sure what the HR does, replies are slow and doesn’t add value.
Interviewers were okay, but after so many rounds, questions tend to repeat.
Reject my application using a generic email template after going through 4 rounds

What skills you bring to the team other than job skills
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Adyen
Interview
A recruiter reached out to me about four times over two months. I finally responded, got on a call with her, and it was fine — a standard interview process. The second round with the hiring manager went well too. The third round was with a hiring manager from a different team, and I wasn't told ahead of time that it would be hypothetical, multilayered questions about their customers.
I can talk at length about my own customers and have plenty of great stories to share. But when I'm asked about their customers with no data on what the customer's pain is or who the customer even is, it's just talking out loud without a sales strategy. No good sales person would go into a sales call without some information ahead of time. Can't say I was impressed by this and declined moving forward with them.

Standard interview questions. Why adyen? Why now? Ect
Interview process was strange and felt disorganized. Applied and got a first round HR screen invitation 6 weeks later (the email said 5 days). A couple of weeks later a 2nd round time with the hiring manager was communicated (hold your time) but no invitation sent. After notifying the company of this the day of the suggested interview (never received an invite), a reschedule was requested. When I showed up to the interview I was told the hiring manager was not available and I’d be interviewing with someone else.
