Applied through the website. HR got back to me to schedule a time to talk. I had a 30 min phone chat and then a followup call the next day with a hiring manager. He seemed very knowledgable and dedicated almost a full hour to describe the company's business and the role.
Next up was an invitation for a 2-hour onsite interview with a Business employee and a Software Lead. It involved questions about my background and some technical questions on software architecture and design. It all seemed to go very well. Everyone seemed happy and I was sure that I would move forward to the final full day round. However, over the weekend I get a canned email response (with a wrong subject title) from the HR person saying that they are moving forward with other candidates instead. As I could not tell what went wrong, I kindly asked for some feedback but never got a response back..
Advice to Affirm: Do not waste people's time like that. If you have already extended offers for the position (perhaps the reason for my rejection), I would have liked to know about it before investing my time. I had all my hopes up and a very positive opinion about the company that was all ruined from the hiring process and its poor communication.
