All of the people involved in the recruitment process are evil: the Recruiter, 2 Engineers, Hiring Manager. Here are all of the details:
---TOO LONG RECRUITMENT PROCESS---
The interview process took 4 months! Extremely long, even for a big tech company!
---SNEAKY TRICK #1: BAIT-AND-SWITCH---
In the end of the interview process, I received a job offer! However, even though the base for this position was in Amsterdam, at the offer step, they offered me to work remotely from my country. I thought "Okay, I do not have to live in Amsterdam". However, since my cost of living will not be high like Amsterdam, they offered me 350 Euro net per month!...Also, while their vacation days at the Amsterdam office are 46 days, they offered me 14 days; because already it is the law in my home country.
---SNEAKY TRICK #2: FUTURE REWARD MANIPULATION---
They say that after 1 year of a temporary contract, if they like my performance, I will be relocated to Amsterdam. They said that even the rent for my first 1 year will be covered by them.
When I asked why they did not want to immediately relocate me to Amsterdam, they said that this job could already be done anywhere in the world. So, if it can be done anywhere in the world, why would you relocate me to Amsterdam and pay x10 more salary (Amsterdam-level salary) 1 year later? Future candidates, do not be naive, please.
---ADDITIONAL TIME-WASTING ACTIVITIES---
The Hiring Manager was shocked that I rejected this offer, and requested an additional meeting. I accepted that 30 minutes of the meeting. I was thinking that he would try to negotiate, but what he did was "Sorry, but this is what we can offer. Could you think again?"
---BORING JOB---
Also, the interview questions were too easy; not deep at all. Therefore, I am almost sure that what they do at this company is not challenging and developing.
If you want to be humiliated, lose your precious time and energy, you should immediately join AkzoNobel's interviews :)
