Applied for their open Recruiter role and received an email letting me know they were interested in setting up an interview but first wanted to know "what TV show character do I most associate myself with". I answered the question and never received a response back, even after multiple follow-up attempts, until a week later from a sales manager via LinkedIn message who wanted to chat (not the recruiter who initially reached out to me). I set up a time to speak with him via a zoom call a few days later. At the beginning of our call he made it very clear that he was super busy and would cut the interview short if he didn't think it was going anywhere. With that kind of introduction, it made me think he had no real interest in speaking with me and only set up the convo as a courtesy , but regardless it was a very off-putting way to start an interview. We only chatted for about 10 minutes and he did not take the time to ask any questions about myself or my background, only how I'd go about hiring 50 sales reps by the end of the year. He also felt it appropriate to get up from his seat and walk out of camera view while I was providing answers, and interrupt himself mid sentence to respond to incoming emails/slack messages. Also explained the role would report directly into himself and the COO, not anyone in Recruiting/HR. Didn't seem to have any real structure or processes in place from a recruiting end the more questions I asked about it. Also, the fact that this role lie's outside of their HR team is a huge red flag as you would essentially be reporting into someone with no experience or knowledge of how recruiting works. I have yet to receive word on next steps, but overall a very negative experience and will most likely withdraw myself should they reach out wanting to move forward.
