I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Amazon (Seattle, WA) in Sep 2016
Interview
First hand experience in what I'd have ended up with. It was disappointing to say the least. I expected better of Amazon. Multiple touch points, the right hand does not know what the left hand is doing, very disorganized in sharing information internally.
Internal reorgs led to position reporting from one hiring manager to another. "We think you're a great culture fit but the position is now under XYZ hiring manager. Could you speak with him/her?" Got a verbal offer after second interview. Had a scheduled call to begin offer negotiations with a recruiter (who had no prior contact with me). Only to find out they did not have their approvals ready. Incredibly mismanaged interview process. I had first hand insight in to what I could be setting myself up for. I was not convinced from the start that this would be where I'd be most effective. After seeing how TA works, there was an overwhelming sense of gratitude at having escaped narrowly from a disaster. Thank you Amazon for saving me from a very painful experience.
4 rounds of interviews that can be split into two days or one consisting of Amazon LP’s and behavioral questions. Star format is huge and don’t repeat example or answers

Question 1
Tell me about a tell you created a niche sourcing strategy to fill a role
Straight to the point. Interviewer has been with Amazon for quite sometime. It baffles me how some Recruiters get jobs at these companies. As a recruiter I could tell right off the bat the interview would end poorly based off the Recruiters tone when he joined.
