      Flight Attendant Interview

      Dec 6, 2018

      Application

I applied in-person. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at American Airlines (Fort Worth, TX) in Dec 2018

      Interview

I applied to American Airlines for the FA position on September 8th. That same day, they invited me to do a questionnaire which I completed that day (took 30 min). On September 21st, I was invited to complete a video interview. I completed it on the next day. It was about six questions which you get three minutes and one chance to record. On October 26th, I was invited to a face to face interview which was held in Forth Worth, TX. They fly you out and in my case I was flown out from Seattle that day, the interview started at 1pm and I was back on my way home by 5:30pm. (In December) The face to face was honestly very odd. There were about 35 of us and we did an icebreaker/group activity, which was fine. Then we were split into groups of five where we would join three recruiters in a room with only chairs. They were facing us and would ask three questions which we all had to answer one by one in front of everyone. Then we went back into the main room with all the candidates and some people were called out one by one by name. I was one of those people. They walked me to the exit and said try again next time. There was no one on one portion, which I felt was extremely unfair. Especially given that everything was so scripted and weird during the group interview portion. I left feeling very uncomfortable and later glad that I didn’t get the position. I don’t want to work for a company that feels so corporate and forced/scripted.
