I applied online. The process took 6 months. I interviewed at American Airlines (Fort Worth, TX) in Dec 2018
Interview
The interview process starts off with an assessment, with job related and personality questions, then if you pass that you will move on to a video interview where you record yourself answering a few questions, situational based, then recruiters will decide if you move on to the face-to-face interview where it is in a group setting and you have the potential to move onto a one on one there.
The whole process varies between people in how long it takes but for me personally I applied in August 2018 and just got my face-to-face interview invitation in December and have my interview in a week. I can only speak to the steps I've reached so far but it's been a great experience!
With the assessment, answer the questions honestly and it's really relying on how you would interact in different situations. The video interview is recorded with a computer or phone (I recommend computer if possible) and you only get one chance with each question. Dress as if you're going to an actual interview and sit in front of a clean and empty background, against a plain wall if possible. If you are a women, try and wear lipstick (preferably red) and simple makeup with blush for sure and stud earrings. Make sure it is quiet and distraction free and if you have tattoos cover them and take out any facial piercings. Do the practice questions and look directly in the camera, as if you were talking to someone and looking them in the eye. It's usually only three to four questions and they are almost all on this site.
Good luck to everyone else in the process and I hope we can all see each other in the skies someday!
