The initial application was fairly easy... You just told them about previous employment and attached your resume. If invited... You then got sent an invitation via email for a "video" interview. In this case, you are not talking to anyone. It is simply just a recorded voice asking you questions then it simply records your answers. It repeated the question twice, and then you had 1 minute to prepare your answer (if needed). Be yourself in this part! They are looking for perky, energetic, and bubbly personalities. You have 5 days to complete this portion. If you made it to the next round, you then got invited to Dallas/Fort Worth for a final face-to-face (f2f) interview. You had 3 dates to choose from (answer the email relatively quickly so you get the 1st day you want). They fly you out to Dallas for the day, or you can fly out the day before if preferred (you have to pay for stay). It is a long day, but the interview process is a lot of fun! You go in there to ~6 round tables with 6 people at each. The recruiters come in and introduces themselves, then they have you start with an ice breaker game with your table as the recruiters are observing (everyone has to present it as a group/table). They then call out 6 names to take you into a group interview. There are 2 recruiters in each room asking questions to the group (each person gets a turn to talk). The first question was, "Tell me about yourself and why you want to be a flight attendant for American Airlines." Number two was, "Tell us about a bad customer service experience and how you resolved the issue." Then the third question they had laminated cards where each person had to choose one and place in their lap without looking. You then took turns standing up, reading the card aloud, and then answering (everyone's cars were different). I got the question, "How does American Airlines stand out from other large airlines?" They then take you back to a room where you watch a video and ask questions. Recruiters will come in one-by-one and call out an interviewee's name, where they tell you that you're not a fit, have you do a reach/buckle test, or they will take you into a separate room to ask you a few questions and give you an official letter of employment... you go back and do the reach/buckle test, they take pictures of your passport, and scan fingerprints. FYI: if you get offered the job that day you ARE drug tested on the spot!
