I applied in-person. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at American Airlines (Fort Worth, TX)
Interview
I applied online and received an email the same day requesting that I take an online assessment. The next day I received an email inviting me to the next step: To do the phone screening (answering automated questions and they record your answers). I waited four days before doing this assessment. The next day I received an email inviting me to a face to face interview. They give you several options of interview dates and you pick 1st-3rd best dates for you. Seven days later I received an email with information about the job, the pay, etc. And my interview date. They also sent a link with a list of 200 airport codes to study and made it known we would have 3 different tests to take BEFORE getting to the face to face interview. The three tests are:
1. testing 100 of the 200 airport codes where you must give the three letter code.
2. A computer skills test using AA.com -AAdvantage tab
3. Typing test.
My interview day was a week later. On that day we went as a group to the computer room and took the three tests...in the order I described. If anyone didn't pass the first test, they were sent home. Same with the second and third test. There are approximately 20 people in each group to start ( we had a few that didn't show up). By the end of the three tests there were only five of us left to go to the face to face interview. We went as a group to a different area and all five of us were interviewed together with two people interviewing us.
I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at American Airlines (Fort Worth, TX) in Jun 2018
Interview
It was such an awful experience. So first I applied online, had a call in automated phone screening, and then was scheduled in for an interview. During this interview, you have a basic computer knowledge test (which is just finding answers about the program online), typing test (a minute test), and a random 100 city codes test out of the 200 destinations given. Once those are done, they have two managers (which you think that they’re going to interview you) but instead come in and start calling out names. One group isn’t considered for the position (send home) and the other ones are able to come and retake the city codes if you didn’t pass. The same people that administered the tests aren’t the same people whom are interviewing you. So after those groups are called, the people left in the room are the ones left in for the interview. The interviews are then conducted as group interviews. By the way, they aren’t very flexible with times/dates for initial interview nor“second” chance. Either you make it or you don’t.
