This review is for the face-to-face interview process in Dallas, TX. The front desk will have you wait with other candidates in the lobby until two recruiters take you back to the interview room. The recruiters were very nice and friendly, giving a brief description of the building and areas as you walk through. Upon entering the recruiting room, there was a table with two recruiters that didn't say anything. A single (lead) AA flight attendant welcomed each person into the room and assigned them a random table. (Each table was arranged with 6 seats). You are instructed to get your passport out. At this point, you should be friendly with the other candidates at your table. The lead will eventually come to you and guide you to the table by the door The lead will tell them your name and you are instructed to read your passport expiration date to them EXACTLY as it's written on your passport. They will then welcome you and give you a nametag (instructing you to wear it up high so it can be easily read) and a sheet of paper. The writing assignment instructs you to number four choices (Good Night's Sleep, Research the company/corporate culture, look on social media/indeed/facebook for interview advice, buy a new outfit) in matter of importance of what you did to get ready for this interview. Then you'll write a brief essay on why you picked #1 After this is finished, the lead will come around and collect it from you. It's still social hour while everyone finishes. At that point, another recruiter will address the room and explain that training is set to begin at the end of Feb/probably early March. And to also not believe anything you've read about CJOs being given out on the spot that day. The lead will take over and offer a brief presentation about the day's schedule and then more recruiters will enter and introduce themselves. After this, each recruiter will call out a list of names to follow them into another room. You'll be guided into another room and seated at a table with your group (There will be two groups in each room). The table will have a bunch of different color/shape foam blocks and the recruiter that's in charge of your table will introduce themselves again and then request that you each introduce yourselves in the same manner (Hi, my name is such and such and I'm from xyz) Then they will begin to explain that you'll be doing a group exercise about building a 3d model and each person will have different roles. (There will be multiple other recruiters in the room with clipboards, not interacting, but watching--I think there was 2-3 but tried not to notice) You're given 12 minutes to try and build this 3d Model (four people will have images of what to build--all from different perspectives, so the 3d model isn't the same from any side of the table) and only certain people can touch certain color blocks. But you cannot show anyone your role card. After the activity, you do a mini group chat about what you learned and why that might be applicable to being a flight attendant. You'll be given a short break right after (about 5 min) When you come back, the recruiters at the tables have swapped and you'll get a new one sitting at your table. They will introduce themselves again and ask that you do the same (Hi, my name is such and such and I'm currently working as a(n) xyz). Then they will tell you that you're about to do a little question session. The first questions is "What can you bring to American Airlines" (Or very similarly worded, but the essence is the same). Then they will set a bunch of cards face down in the middle of the table and each person grabs a card. You're instructed to grab a card, read it to yourself, think about your answer, and then set it face down as you wait for the others. Then anyone can go first. You're required to tell the recruiter which # question you got, read the question, SET IT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE TABLE, and THEN answer the question. (I noticed many people holding it and playing with it as they answered, but that was not the instruction) I could only remember three questions from that session(of the 6). "Describe your last social media post" "Describe a time a customer and coworker had a disagreement, what did you do?" "Describe your proudest work moment" Once finished, you'll be granted another break and instructed to go back to the original room with all the other candidates. The lead will start a powerpoint describing the job and asks if anyone has anymore questions. The recruiters will start coming in a the end and calling a name. You'll either be given a 1-on-1 or walked out. Unfortunately I was walked out, but thankfully wasn't blindsided because I'd read about that part from other people. The recruiter will most likely tell you that you were not selected and to apply six months from that day. If you got a 1-on-1, congrats and good luck! Overall it was a good interview experience.
