I applied in-person. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at American Airlines (Dallas, TX) in Nov 2021
Interview
Worst horrible experience ever!!!!
They flew me out to Dallas when I got there I quickly called the shuttle number that was stated in the email which had unorganized and mislead information I had called twice because I was having a hard time looking for the shuttle. The guy was SUPER rude over the phone! I was running around like crazy asking at the airport for directions and information about the shuttle. They were all giving me different information and directions a few of the ppl that worked at the airport we’re plain rude and had an attitude. Finally one of the shuttles that I found finally was able to take me to the interview. When I walked in one of the requiters walked us to a room and these two flight attendants one were asking for a passport.. one handed a paper to fill out an essay, which I think I didn’t do well on.. That May had made the cut. I felt unwelcome the lady that was asking for the passport was very pushy and unfriendly. She had no personality and looked angry. Then asked to do a group activity followed by another question. This may or may not move you forward to a one on one. Tips: DONT stand out don’t be outgoing don’t be too friendly or too enthusiastic or too good looking.. they say be yourself but apparently they won’t like some of the personality’s… I can feel the jealousy and racism just by walking in the room. They act like their working for the law walking around like robots with stuck up judgement. I worked SO HARD, studied and was looking forward to being a flight attendant for this company I missed my favorite holiday and lost sleep for this. Some didn’t answer the question right some told long unnecessary made up answers and looked very nervous. I tried my best just like everyone else… so why did I get to home early. It’s unfair for those who left with a thanks but no thanks gesture when they weren’t able to meet us on one one to get to know us on a deeper level. The requirement team needs to fix their hiring process it’s a complete JOKE. How are they representing the company as flight attendants?! Being a flight attendant you’re supposed to look friendly and have an outgoing personality to make those people smile and laugh but at the same take our job seriously.
