The HR recruiting person reached out to me through LinkedIn, we had a phone call and I shared resume. I then had a 30 minute informational call with the hiring manager and this lead to an invitation to interview in person at their home office.
The interview was 90 minutes and it was entirely behavioral. Unexpectedly - the questions were focused entirely on the Job Competencies as defined in the position description. Nothing about the specific job responsibilities. The questions were tough and clearly right out of the HR department behavioral interview guides. Some were negative (tell me about a time you failed to...). They asked for responses in the STAR format (situation, task, actions, results). They were not very good at following up on my responses, however.
