At first, it was fast. I applied and the next day I was sent skill surveys and pre-screen questions. Before I even finished the survey I already got an email from the hiring manager to do an interview the next day. Since COVID-19 it's been hard to find a decent job because there is serious competition. So I'm excited to even get a ”lead”. I interviewed with the hiring manager and the director. Everyone was on time and nice. They asked me basic interview questions. What I didn't like was that they were really concerned that if my old job called me back I would leave. My problem is..that doesn't matter because I'm on an interview 4 months after being laid-off. I need a J.O.B. Then they went about asking me about equipment I would need and what they will provide for me and not to worry if I didn't have items they got it handled. In my mind, that sounds good. I sent my follow-up email, no response. Didn't really expect one. Training was set to start 10 days after I interviewed. When I reached back out it was 5 days until and still no reply. Two days later I get a no. I'm a realist. They knew it was a no before I even logged off from the virtual interview. Let's stop leaving people in limbo. The initial process was fast but the no is slow? They were hiring several people as well so I know that plays a part but just like the pandemic has changed the way we work it has also changed the way we interview.
