I applied to the role and a few days later received an invitation to interview. The first step was a one-sided video prescreening with ~5 questions. I could record an answer up to 3 times. Within an hour after submitting the videos, I got an email from a recruiter explaining that I’d been advanced to the next step. I was scheduled for a phone screening the following afternoon with them and needed to complete a technical assessment before our conversation. During the phone screening, they asked me a few questions regarding my experience, why I applied, blah blah, the typical pre-screen questions. That lasted maybe 15 minutes, give or take. They told me at the end of the call that they were trying to fill the role ASAP. I got a call from the Executive Director a couple hours after my phone screening and was set up for a small panel interview with them and some other team members. That interview took place two days later on Teams. The interview consisted of general questions about my experience working on a team, with multiple databases, how I organize, etc. It was a fairly pleasant interview. I was told at the end of the call that I would be hearing something the following week; and if selected to proceed, would have a final interview with the VP. I never heard back the following week. I reached out to both my interviewer and recruiter and they’ve yet to get back with me. The interview process felt incredibly rushed and took a matter of days from start to finish, only to be ghosted. I totally understand if I wasn’t qualified, I just wish they could communicate with me rather than leave me without answers. Super disappointing. Long story short: don’t waste your time. An organization that rushes an interview process & then ghosts its candidates is not worth it. Find a place that values open and honest communication from the start.
