One of the worst interviewing experiences. Some of what they think is ok to say and do in the hiring process is completely out of line, some of it a serious legal risk. It’s as if the interviewers don’t have competent HR to help them design a legal and effective interview process. That’s not even what made the interview bad, though it effectively highlighted their arrogance.
The worst part is that they seem to be interviewing just to hear people’s answers, like an audition for a game show. They share nothing of their company problems they’re trying to solve by hiring new people.
Maybe they haven’t done any root cause analysis to know why they are even hiring? Maybe they know but think it should be a big secret? Who knows.
In the interview they don’t have a two way conversation. They write everything down like they’re taking class notes and it’s a big quiz session.
Perhaps they don’t know that quality hiring is not a blind game show? Who cares.
Not a good use of time.
