Initial recruiter call, meet the manager then run through a practice call. The first two steps were focused on my experience and were quite informal, then the third step provided very little context with very high expectations.
I was not told about any qualifying questions or what to look for in the process. So I went through the mock call using the little information provided about Amplitude to navigate the call, ask questions, and set up a meeting to learn more (literally the job..).
I was told my skills were not at the level they were looking for and I should have asked more particular questions and dug into industry-specific challenges. My use of current customer testimonials was irrelevant and I should've taken the phone call even further.....
I watched the demo before the interview and understood various customer use cases but it wasn't enough since they wanted a natural seller.
With the amount they pay for the role, I hope they find their perfect candidate because someone of their expected "caliber" could probably get paid more at many other companies in the area.
