It was very bizarre to say the least. 1st round was a fit interview with an HR person who said I was 1 of 2 finalists and the next round would be with the person I would be reporting to who has already prescreened my resume. After being ghosted for 2 weeks, a new HR person approached me for an interview with 2 members of the team who asked thoughtful questions and was a good experience. It is at this point everything gets a little funky. I was called on a random Friday by yet another HR person who asked why I didn't show up for my interview. Well it turns out an interview was scheduled with me for a final round but no one had asked me about it, included me on any invitation, and then proceeded to schedule one without ever inviting me. After reworking some schedules I was invited to another interview on the following Monday. Two individuals from Applyboard were on the call; one a new person who had just joined and the other was a higher level VP who was initially the person I was to report to. While questions with the newer employee were fine, the higher level VP openly mocked my experience in the industry, proceeded to get defensive when I asked for clarifying questions to broad hypotheticals, and berated me for "not doing any research on the company" when I asked if recent legislation in Canada regarding new students visa caps were impacting the financial health, and thus my job security, with the organization. Even if I was offered the role, the bizarre and outright rude behavior of the interviewer would of turned me off from accepting the role. ApplyBoard has a negative reputation in the industry and after experiencing them firsthand, it is well deserved.
