I was called by an Aquent recruiter who described a unique position that had been created. We talked about 30 minutes. Two days later the job description was emailed to me. Another phone interview was scheduled after I sent her an updated resume and references. Second phone interview lasted 45 minutes and contained many questions like, "Tell me a time when you successfully lead a team." or "Tell me how you handle negative people." At the end of the phone call she told me who the client was and we discussed location and salary and she asked I was interested enough to be presented to the client.
The client selected three people to bring onsite to interview. I met with three Aquent people that work for the client with long term contracts (5-10 years). Everyone was extremely nice and knowledgeable. There are many Aquent contractors on site and they are just as much a part of the contracting company as the direct employees are. They seem to be very organized and management is very supportive and championing the new project this position was created for. The onsite interview lasted 1.5 hours and I was told a great deal about the position, the teams, the management style and the flexibility of the environment. There was plenty of time to ask questions, and everyone was happy to explain as much as I wanted to know.
