I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Arc'teryx (Vancouver, BC)
Interview
Horrible. The people I met seemed like cult members and sniped at each other in a passive-aggressive manner, also spoke about existing team members in a negative way. No social niceties whatsoever - not even a glass of water offered when I started choking while talking to them. No attempt to make me feel comfortable with them, just bombarded with totally Googleable questions. I thought about walking out after 20 minutes, gave up taking an interest in giving good answers.

Question 1
Lots of "do you know what the (x) command does?" questions.
a recruiter phone screen followed by an interview with some hiring managers. unfortunately, like several others have mentioned in their reviews, I was ultimately ghosted after the interview
I received no updates or feedback on the interview process, which felt disappointing given the time and effort put into the process. very frustrating to see a lack of professionalism from a brand that emphasizes values like community and integrity. on top of that, the recruitment team appears more focused on showcasing their personal lives and Friday work hour ski trips on social media than on candidate communication!
if you're applying, just be prepared for a lack of follow-through...

Question 1
tell me a time you had conflict with a colleague and how did you resolve it
I applied online. I interviewed at Arc'teryx in Sep 2024
Interview
Applied online, Got a call from HR after a week. Didn't hear anything back, so I followed up and got a response with an interview date. A call with hiring manager was scheduled. It was a mix of behavioural and some technical questions. Interview was okay, and got an invite on the same day for technical round which was scheduled after a week. Again the said technical interview was not limited to technical questions only. No response afterwards. I followed up again after a week, didn't hear anything back. Process took almost over a month and ended being ghosted! Totally waste of time.

Question 1
What is one thing your current manager is asking you to improve/work upon?
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Arc'teryx in Jul 2024
Interview
I had 2 interviews with Arc'teryx - a 30-minute intro meeting with two engineering managers and a 90-minute tech test with an engineering manager and senior engineer.
The intro meeting was a general discussion about my past experience. In tech test I was asked basic JavaScript questions and then asked to refactor and debug some JavaScript code.
While I wouldn't say it was necessarily the hardest tech test I've done, the decision to test me on my memory rather than challenging me with a real life coding situation i.e a React based challenge, was somewhat of a red flag.
In total I spent two hours interviewing as well as dedicating more time practicing for the tech test. It's been nearly three weeks since I took the tech test (which I was told was the final stage) and I still haven't heard anything back from the hiring manager.
Whilst I don't think I performed well enough in the tech test to get the job, I would have at least expected a courtesy email or some feedback from the hiring manager. It is very disappointing to get through two interviews and then be ghosted, especially considering that the company prides itself on its culture.
