Art of Problem Solving interview questions

Pretty frustrating experience. AoPS seems to suffer from severe administrative bloat and is comfortable wasting as much of your time as possible to fill up their day. In my situation, it's obvious based on who was hired that they clearly knew who would get the position, yet they still felt comfortable dragging me through a series of multiple interview steps and getting my hopes up. To add insult to injury, HR didn't bother responding to multiple emails but did have the gall to ask me to spend more time filling out a survey for their own feedback. If you're invited to do additional interviews, I wouldn't put too many eggs in the AoPS basket and certainly do not make the mistake I made and do things like taking time off from your current job to attend.

I was really excited to interview for this company, I really liked their mission and products! Sadly, I was really disappointed in how it all turned out. First was the initial phone screening with the recruiter which was great, then there was an hour-long technical interview, and later another hour-long interview which was a "brainstorming session." Lastly, there was a day-long set of interviews -- In the first of those, I had to present analysis and findings from a prompt & data set they had given me a few days before. They said to spend two hours preparing, but that would not have been enough so I spent quite a bit more time on it. The remaining three interview for that day were a problem solving session, another brainstorming session, and a wrap-up session where I had an unexpected second interviewer ask me a random statistics question. It was the most rigorous interview process I've ever been through. Looking back on it, I didn't feel like those interviewing me cared much about me as a person... I was never asked a single personal question. It seemed like a very intense environment. I was never offered the position despite making the final round of interviews. After all of the hours and effort I put in (not to mention I took an entire day off of my current job), I never even got a reply from them -- radio silence. I followed up a few times to no avail. I just find it to be incredibly cold, disrespectful, and unprofessional. I think I am glad I didn't receive an offer knowing all of this. I know the people there are very smart and great at their jobs, but the lack of basic decency and interpersonal connection just didn't do it for me. I hope my experience was just a one-off and no one else experiences this, but I can't be sure!
