I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at AtkinsRéalis (Montreal, QC) in Sep 2011
Interview
I had a friend who worked there, he knew a few tricks with Excel that I thought him and were looking for a programmer for one of their project. They asked him if he was interested, and he referred me instead. I submitted my CV through him and got a call the next day to schedule an interview. I then met the group leader with an HR lady. He basically described the job and asked me a few very simple technical questions about my experience with PHP and Ajax. HR lady was there taking notes about my personality and my english/french proficiency. The fact that I was referred by someone already inside probably made this extremely easier than it should've been.

They seemed very interested in how I’d used ArcGIS in past projects and asked about specific challenges I'd faced while handling gas and electric data, which is part of my current work domain.
