Aurora Energy Research Analyst interview questions

My skills profile aligned well with multiple vacancies so I did a few phone & Skype interviews with Aurora for at least two roles. Standard topics focus on small mathematical & statistical problems, understanding of energy industry market structure and trends. Culture fit also seems important: I got the impression that they value the highest qualifications and people who truly go beyond what is expected of them – the Glassdoor employee reviews perhaps reinforce my impression. The recruiting process was frustrating and required many email exchanges just to get the first interview stages set up. The interviewer for the vacancy that was my best fit had no availability for at least one week; lo and behold, when I received a Skype call at the arranged time with him, I am being interviewed by someone else for another role that had not been listed on the company's website and never discussed with me previously. I found the experience unprofessional and the interviewer was nonchalant when I mentioned that the role he was questioning me for was not advertised. They seem to pass around CVs internally in a casual manner. Having interviewed for multiple teams, there does appear to be a difference in temperament across staff, which may affect the interview experience. I have not even heard about the status of one role at Aurora but have taken up an exciting job elsewhere in a more agile environment.
