I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 days. I interviewed at AutoNation (Henderson, NV) in Jan 2012
Interview
I had to go back to the dealership 4 times to meet with the sales manager. The assistant manager scheduled the final interview with the sales manager but the sales manager said he was not aware that I was coming in to interview. He interviewed me on the spot. During the interview, he was on the phone with his boss for about 15 minutes about something not relevant to the interview. At the end of the interview, he said he filled the open position but would keep me in mind if they were hiring in the future.
In person, basic questions, nothing unusual. Two managers interview you and then they talk to the GM before ultimately making a decision. If you call and check on the status of your app you're likely to receive an offer.
I applied through other source. The process took 12 months. I interviewed at AutoNation (Las Vegas, NV) in Nov 2025
Interview
Poor, if you even get an interview. Then, they hide behind their corporate website and say that you were not selected. They need to choose between local vs nation wide hiring process.

I was contacted by Isaias for an in person interview at the South Austin location. I arrived and spoke with him for about 20 minutes discussing the role and my experience. I then spoke with a young lady who was internet sales manager who seemed almost hostile. I was the third interviewer was eating lunch and couldn’t be bothered. Didn’t hear back and followed up. No response. Basically ghosted.
