I applied in-person. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at AutoNation (Irvine, CA) in Oct 2017
Interview
Phone interview then an in person interview followed by drug test and background test then a life scan. Very common in the Auto Industry. AutoNation just makes the entire process a bit more complicated than it should be.
In person, basic questions, nothing unusual. Two managers interview you and then they talk to the GM before ultimately making a decision. If you call and check on the status of your app you're likely to receive an offer.
I applied through other source. The process took 12 months. I interviewed at AutoNation (Las Vegas, NV) in Nov 2025
Interview
Poor, if you even get an interview. Then, they hide behind their corporate website and say that you were not selected. They need to choose between local vs nation wide hiring process.

Interview
I was contacted by Isaias for an in person interview at the South Austin location. I arrived and spoke with him for about 20 minutes discussing the role and my experience. I then spoke with a young lady who was internet sales manager who seemed almost hostile. I was the third interviewer was eating lunch and couldn’t be bothered. Didn’t hear back and followed up. No response. Basically ghosted.
