The in person interview is comprehensive, where people from Human Resources, those at more junior levels than the position, as well as those more senior than the position, participate. After speaking with so many people, and answering the same question many times over, one can not help but doubt that they made a positive impression. Also, with so many people, each having their own personality and interests, the chances are that much greater that you will be tripped up with bad chemistry.
